Vintage 1978 Rare Mary Lou & Edward Higgins Silver Lustreware & Ceramic Mug

I think this is the only mug of its kind that is for sale on any platform on the internet. If anyone has the mugs made by Edward Higgins with artwork by Mary Lou Higgins, they are, apparently, hanging onto them. I do not like using the word "RARE" on eBay because it gets overused quickly. In this case, the word RARE truly applies. There just aren't many of these out in the world. If you've been looking for this, you'd better get this one. You aren't likely to come across another one anytime soon.
The couple used to work together to make various pieces of ceramic with these drawings by Mary Lou--with silver or gold lustreware accents. Because my mother was a potter, I know that the processes to make this shape of mug are all difficult to achieve. The different processes complicate the difficulty.
--To apply the artwork;
--To apply and fire the silver;
--To make and affix the complicated handle;
--And I think it's actually porcelain pottery (it's white), adding another level of difficulty.

I imagine that these pieces were quite expensive when they were new. Here we are 43 years later. To find a piece of handmade ceramic pottery INTACT is something of a miracle. I guess that explains why there aren't any other mugs, and very few pieces of any kind, by the Higgins couple to be found anywhere on The Internet.  4" diameter at the top. 4" tall.
