Scarce Antique Early Primitive Metal Tin Hanging ShooFly Screen Trap 9.75" Good

Offering this antique metal tin fly trap. Measures 9.75" T and 6" Base diameter. Top is about 4.25". Circa late 19th to early 20th C.  These traps are not common pieces. I have been lucky to encounter a couple from separate dealers across the country. This fly trap has metal tin sides base and top as seen and a shoofly screen. This is a cool piece. The smaller screen goes in the bottom of the larger screen. The small screen has a tiny hole big enough for a fly to crawl in but then can't get out. It's easy to remove once fly is dead to dump the dead fly(s) and set back up for display. Has a great primitive look, nice patina and it's just a bonus that it has a purpose to catch those annoying bugs. Can be hung or set on shelf as is.
