Description
Dryden Pottery was started in Ellsworth Kansas in 1946 & moved to Hot Springs Arkansas in 1956. Family owned for 3 generations, the success of their craftsmanship & bright glaze colors has made them one of a very few potteries still in business in the United States. This vase was wheel-thrown & hand-carved by 2nd generation J. K. Dryden (Kimbo). Wheel-thrown ridges, carved bands, & a leaf-like carved design accent the entire surface of the vase. The glaze colors blend from light green at the top to a green & pink blend in the middle to a rich dark pink at the bottom. Exact date is unknown but probably in the 1960-80 timeframe. This large vase is about 11 inches tall & about 5 inches wide at its widest point. The top rim is almost 3-1/4 inches in diameter & the base is 3-3/4 inches in diameter. The bottom is clearly signed & the original silver label indicating this is a one-of-a-kind original is still attached to the vase. It is in excellent vintage condition - no chips, hairlines, or crazing. Ships USPS or UPS.
