Alan Grout Art Pottery Trinket Box

Description

This lovely little box carries the pottery mark of Alan Grout, a local Canadian artist in British Columbia who has been producing fine studio pottery since the 1970s. This particular trinket box is a most unusual design, being that it's a perfectly square cube 2.5 inches on each side, and its lid has a cutout shape to make it easy to put back on in the correct orientation. Open the box and you find a tiny impression of a pair of birds inside, and the lid itself has a beautiful glazed leaf. The box itself is covered in textured impressions, and the base is protected by a thin layer of felt.
